Automatically scroll selected (open) article to top of reading pane (option)
At the moment, Bazqux seems to be set up as follows: if you open a long article, the selected article will automatically scroll up to the top of the reading pane, revealing as much of the article as possible. If you select a short article -- one that Bazqux can open in full without moving the reading pane -- it will open the article "in place", even if that is at the bottom of the screen. I think it makes more sense to have a system where the selected article always opens at the top of the reading pane --…

Move the article buttons (star, tag, etc.) to lower left corner of the articles
The current placement of the article buttons (star, tag, share, mark read) in the top right corner is very inconvenient: they are most likely used after reading/scanning the article (i.e. at the bottom). Also, the mouse most likely is close to the left side where all the feeds are.
2 votesYou can now use article menu (right-click at the bottom of the article or between blue cursor and article text or right-to-left swipe on mobile) to star/tag/share/mark read anywhere you want

Set view by folder/feed
One feature that I would like to see that other services have is the ability to set a view on the folder and feed level that can differ from other folders.
In my case I would like to set latest to be expanded view but would like it if when I go directly to a folder or feed that it always load in list view. This makes it much easier for me when I need to go back and find an older article.

Auto read 'old' items
I only want to read 'current' items on some sites / folders, especially news sites for example. It would be great if per feed I could set BazQux to auto read posts that are older than a determined set amount.
So in my news folder anything older than 1 day would be auto read as it's old news and I don't want to read it / would have seen it on twitter etc.
However items in my personal development folder would never be auto read as I want to read them when time allows.
Items in my mobile tech news…

time:[now-1w *]
or
time:[now-1d *]
in your feed and click “New filter” => “Show found items only”For more search options you could look into “Search hints” section of Help.

Unread count like in Google Reader
Now: Unread count in a right-aligned column. Difficult to read quickly.
Better: Number between parentheses appended to feed title, in grey colour.9 votes -

Mark as read on j/k if "Mark read - On click" is set
I do want to scroll the list without marking scrolled articles read.
But the sole option of this behaviour - "Mark on click" doesn't mark an article on pressing hotkeys, thus a reader must additionally press "m" after "j" or use mouse15 votes -

Maintain empty tag names
The service deletes the tag name when the tag has no more items. When Mr.Reader syncs, the tag name is deleted there too. This forces users to enter the same tag name everytime an item needs to use that tag. This isn't standard behaviour.

Show a count for total items in tags
Tagged items are very likely read by the user already, before they are tagged - so unless you mark them as unread after tagging they won't show up in the tagged item count. And then they also show up in the usual feed folders though they've already been dealt with. Wouldn't it make sense for the tag folders to show a count of total items?
Mr.Reader uses this approach, it's a lot more helpful IMO. If you must show unread count within tags it could be shown in as total items/unread items. I'd personally prefer just the total count showing.

Restrict 'Mark as Read' to Button
At the moment it is possible to mark an article as read by clicking in the body of the article. This can lead to articles being marked as read accidentally and without realising.
It would be great if it were possible to restrict the 'mark as read' function to just the • button and the 'm' key to avoid missing articles.4 votes -

Better/easier way for handling/showing read status
Personally I manually toggle the read status of a message. Sometimes I accidently toggle it. So it would be nice to have a read/unread button in the top bar and a different line color on the left side of the message: e.g. read of read and blue (as now) for unread.

Three column display
I like to read one message at a time, without seeing the next message under the current message. A clean display. In other words just like feedbin.me does: subscription list, message list, message display.
