An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment An SSD/HDD mix will take a lot of time to implement.
It might be possible to increase the limit for a few selected feeds, but any kind of unlimited feeds is both difficult to implement and can take up too much disk space.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed here.
An error occurred while saving the comment I don't think so. Google Reader used BigTable or some other equally big Google-scale database. So no issues in saving a lot of data. It was just not growing fast enough and projects with <100M users are not that interesting for Google.
An error occurred while saving the comment Nothing has changed since my last comment. There are no plans to increase 500 items limit at the moment.
An error occurred while saving the comment There is a big problem with this feature. There are many high volume feeds which usually post things no one ever read (or read partially) but they account for about 80% of all posts.
Increasing limit from 500 to 1000 means doubling database and search index size. Increasing to 3000 means about 5-6x more disk space and more RAM (search uses RAM quite heavy). It means major increases in server costs just because of some feeds that are mostly unread.
It also hurts performance, since posts lists become larger and more memory and internal network bandwidth is needed. I.e. again more hardware is needed to maintain the same performance.
While it probably possible to move old posts from SSD to HDD, I'm not yet sure that search index won't require too much RAM. It also requires considerable engineering effort to make this separation and I have a lot of other features to do.
The only possible way I see at the moment is to increase limit to few thousands for additional price. But I don't think I have time to implement it in the near future.
An error occurred while saving the comment
An error occurred while saving the comment This limit is needed for performance reasons. I'm not planning to increase it in the near future.

An error occurred while saving the comment You can make two styles
.postHeader { /* unread style */ }
.read .postHeader { /* read style */ }that’s how BazQux itself handles it.

An error occurred while saving the comment No, I won't set up any tor nodes/clients. It could compromise the service.
An error occurred while saving the comment I don't know what is i2p. Do you have any examples of i2p feeds?

An error occurred while saving the comment BazQux development is in the support mode at the moment since I've moved to London for a new job
https://discourse.bazqux.com/t/how-is-development-going/220/3An error occurred while saving the comment Interesting idea about email or feed with news about feeds with errors (to see errors in mobile apps):
https://bazqux.uservoice.com/forums/190752-general/suggestions/4332109-help-users-to-find-dead-abandoned-feeds-feeds-witAn error occurred while saving the comment Good idea. I'll probably add this in future.

An error occurred while saving the comment Good idea. I thought about something like this myself. But can't say when I get to it.

An error occurred while saving the comment I don't think that I will add it. There's already a standard e-mail registration which doesn't depend on any 3rd-party provider so I don't see the need to add new login methods.
There are always issues with them — user's Google/FB/Twitter account could be suspended, there could be issues with API (they're rare but they exist), they could be sunset (like many OpenID services and Mozilla Persona) so I prefer to not bother with them.

An error occurred while saving the comment Sorry for the delay. I've added &tags parameter, so you should see your BazQux tags when bookmarking to Pinboard.
An error occurred while saving the comment And, of course, the best solution will be autosaving of tagged/starred items to Pinboard implemented in BazQux itself.
But I'm not sure that I will implement it soon since not many people are using Pinboard (although I'm personally one of them) and there are more important things to do first.
An error occurred while saving the comment It seems that Zappier does not support RSS tags at all. Not sure about Integromat.
And even if user tags will be in RSS than they will be mixed with tags from source feed so it won't work fine. So if your tool does not support custom feed items (or even RSS tags) there seems to be no way to save items the way you want.
Do you have a lot of tags and do you use multiple tags on item? If not you could just make separate feeds for each tag and setup saving to Pinboard with particular tag for each feed (e.g., "video" tag feed saves items with "video" tag to Pinboard).
I could add "...&tags" (nice idea, btw) but it means that you need to manually resave each item to Pinboard. It's not convenient and you could always forget to "double save" an item.
An error occurred while saving the comment What is your use case: do you want to see tags in some feed reader or you want to extract them from feed using a script?
There's <category term="..."/> for tags that come with the item in source feed.
I could add some tag prefix (like <category term="bq: some_user_tag"/>) but I don't like that user tags and source tags are mixed. I could add a text to feed items (I don't like it too but it's possible to make it optional).
Or I could add a new tag, like
<bq:user_tag>some_user_tag</bq:user_tag>
for these tags.Which option you prefer?

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, it's still in the queue. Can't say ETA yet.
I'm personally using https://www.kill-the-newsletter.com and it working fine. Not the best option but it works.
An error occurred while saving the comment Still can't say ETA. But it is planned.
You could use https://www.kill-the-newsletter.com/ meanwhile
An error occurred while saving the comment Still planning to add this but can't say ETA.
An error occurred while saving the comment Hope to implement it this year.
An error occurred while saving the comment That's good idea. I'll probably add it in future.

An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, creating smart stream is a good option for this. I'm thinking to add option to customize Latest feeds but can't say ETA.

An error occurred while saving the comment It's possible to save to Pocket from BazQux directly via article share menu.
I'm still planning to implement it. Just too many things to do.
An error occurred while saving the comment Yes, it's possible and it's planned. I'm going to improve sharing and bookmarking (later this year, I think) and will add saving of external pages too.

An error occurred while saving the comment There is no place for time so I'm not sure that I will add it.
You can try to rotate screen -- time should be visible in landscape mode. And you could expand list view item and see item time after author.

An error occurred while saving the comment Not yet sure about keyboard shortcut. But you can click on the feed name link in "from <feed name>" line and it will select source feed.

An error occurred while saving the comment You could press 'f' to hide feeds list and toolbar and use https://ftr.bazqux.com/ to convert feed to full text one.
Not yet sure about one article at a time mode (fullscreen mode is already quite focused). Maybe I'll add it if more people will ask for it.

Can’t say ETA but I’m planning to add it.
An error occurred while saving the comment I'm still planning to add it. Meanwhile you could convert your feed to full text one using https://ftr.bazqux.com/ (Full Text RSS service instance that's free for BazQux Reader users).

An error occurred while saving the comment I don't understand, public feeds are already in XML format. Is it youtube-dl that needs .xml at the end of the URL (which is quite strange)? What error do you see? (you could send it to support@bazqux.com if it's too large).

An error occurred while saving the comment That's quite strange. I haven't seen browser crash in years (maybe you have some bad browser plugin?) and even if browser crashes site data should be left in place (even after hardware reset/power off disk data is safe most of the time).
Have you enabled clearing of cookies and site data on browser exit? Perhaps it's reason of appearance settings not being saved. You should add bazqux.com to exceptions list to keep its cookies and site data after browser restart.
Websites have no access to Windows registry or files on you computer. Perhaps I could add a way to save current theme as a preset.
Until I add presets you could use a workaround. If you hover mouse over "Reader font size" or other labels in Appearance dialog you could see current value in a tooltip. You could write it somewhere to restore settings next time.

I’m planning to implement this later this year
An error occurred while saving the comment I'm still planning to implement it but focused on higher priority features first. Can't say ETA yet (but most probably not this year).
As a workaround to send instant message you could long tap on article title (or article time if there's no title) to open OS menu for a link and share from it.

An error occurred while saving the comment You could mute feeds using filter. Search for * (i.e. everything), then "New filter" => "Hide found items". Then you could edit filter in settings and add any feeds you want to disable. When you want to read feeds you could uncheck them or change filter to NOT * (so it won't hide anything).
I'm also thinking about option to select which feeds to show in Latest stream. So you could remove some feeds from it and show them only in folder or when feed is directly selected.
Disabling feed fetching completely is problematic since feed could be shared with other people, plus some articles could be missed and there will be holes in feed history which won't look nice when you return to read this feed.

An error occurred while saving the comment Not sure about it. It's possible to just open original article in separate tab.
Perhaps, I'll add an option to open article from reader (not original but only what is visible in feed) in separate tab.
Unfortunately, I'm not going to change this anytime soon.
The reader is not actively developed at this time. I fix bugs (there aren't many), maintain servers, but I can't spend too much time adding new features.
Feeds usually keep only last 10-20 articles. Some feeds have links to previous pages, most don't. So unless somebody had subscribed to a feed from the beginning you won't usually able to read feeds from the start even if they will keep more than 500 articles.
