Floating message bar
I mean the menu bar that shows the status of e.g. starred, read, etc. of a message.
Now it's on the right top corner of a article. If the top of the article scrolls out of sight, then I also can't see the menu bar. Therefore some sort of floating menu bar would be nice; in other words: it should always be visible.
12 votesNot the floating bar but there’s now article menu that you could open in the middle or at the bottom of the article where you can see and change article status

Delete Folders with or without Deleting Subscriptions
When you delete a folder, all subscriptions in it will be deleted, too.
It would be nice to be able to choose whether to delete only the folder (tag) or to delete all its subscriptions at the same time - depending on situation, I might want one or the other.

Implement Full Text RSS (http://fulltextrssfeed.com/)
I would love to have http://fulltextrssfeed.com/ implemented into bazqux. Have a button that changes the feed to fulltextfeed.. (They even have an API so it should be trivial to implement..)
Thanks for a nice RSS reader :)
19 votesI’ve installed Five Filters Full-Text RSS service on one of my servers.
Try it to convert truncated feeds to full ones
http://ftr.bazqux.comI don’t want to add button that changes feed URL (starred/tagged items will become linked to another feed and it will be harder to export feed to other readers). Prefer getting full text for the whole feed inside the reader but it will require more work so I can’t say ETA.

Mark as read on j/k if "Mark read - On click" is set
I do want to scroll the list without marking scrolled articles read.
But the sole option of this behaviour - "Mark on click" doesn't mark an article on pressing hotkeys, thus a reader must additionally press "m" after "j" or use mouse15 votes -
Auto read 'old' items
I only want to read 'current' items on some sites / folders, especially news sites for example. It would be great if per feed I could set BazQux to auto read posts that are older than a determined set amount.
So in my news folder anything older than 1 day would be auto read as it's old news and I don't want to read it / would have seen it on twitter etc.
However items in my personal development folder would never be auto read as I want to read them when time allows.
Items in my mobile tech news…
7 votesIt’s possible with time-based filters. Search for
time:[now-1w *]
or
time:[now-1d *]
in your feed and click “New filter” => “Show found items only”For more search options you could look into “Search hints” section of Help.

Universal article sharing/bookmarking via "URL schemes"
Google Reader allowed to add new sharingbookmarking services with a generic configuration option:
Name: bit.ly
URL: http://bit.ly/?v=3&u=${url}&s=${title}
Icon URL: http://bit.ly/static/images/favicon.pngThis would end all requests for adding another one of the 1727 bookmarking/sharing services in use somewhere around the globe.

Implement some kind of inline translation
In Google Reader i was subscribed to a lot of foreign feeds (German,Spanish,Italian,French,Japanese,Chinese,..) which Google automatically translated into English.It's the only feature I miss from BazQux Reader.
4 votesNot inline but it’s now possible to send article content to Google Translate http://blog.bazqux.com/2013/10/drag-and-drop-subscriptions-reordering.html

Move the article buttons (star, tag, etc.) to lower left corner of the articles
The current placement of the article buttons (star, tag, share, mark read) in the top right corner is very inconvenient: they are most likely used after reading/scanning the article (i.e. at the bottom). Also, the mouse most likely is close to the left side where all the feeds are.
2 votesYou can now use article menu (right-click at the bottom of the article or between blue cursor and article text or right-to-left swipe on mobile) to star/tag/share/mark read anywhere you want

BazQux "Mini"
BazQux version of Feedly Mini.
Mini permits on most web pages the ability to "Star" or "Read Later" these pages.
It adds to the rss methodology by permitting manual injection of items into the system outwith the Feeds List.
Could perhaps trigger by bookmarklet.3 votes -
Scroll modifier for half page
It would be grate to have a Ctrl modifier for Space and Shift Space. Instead of scrolling a full page it would scroll 1/2 a page. I have been experimenting with this in the js console:
mw = document.getElementById("uw-1");
mw.scrollTop = mw.scrollTop (+/-) (mw.clientHeight / 2);I think it would be a grate modifier.

I don't want to see some search hints any more but Delete key and cookies clearing doesn't delete them.

Alternative social media
The ability (if possible) to subscribe to alternative social media accounts. For example: Steemit, Gab, Minds, BitChute, etc.

Ability to create groups of other Bazqux users to share posts.
This was a feature that the old Google Reader had, you could share a post with your friends that were also using it. It would show up in their feed. You could also comment on it and have a discussion about the shared post. It was a very useful social feature.

Add Feed name as Caption (beside "mark as read")
If browsing successive through different feeds, it would be helpful to have actual feed as caption - for example beside "mark as read".

Subscribe to Private Lists in Twitter
Support for subscribing to Twitter lists is great, but it only works with public lists. I would like to authenticate my Twitter account in BazQux and be able to subscribe to the private lists created by me.

Marking words in articles
What about marking a word in a specific color if it is in an article or headline. It would help to focus on important articles but without starting another smart stream.
