Support for NetNewsWire 5 on macOS
Really excited for the “return” of (Free!) NetNewsWire 5.0 (Evergreen 1.0) to macOS; it’s based on open source with Bent Simmons in command. He is offering free support for feeds integration; you are invited to join the Github repository and Slack channel where they will help “get you started” with integrating your feed. I would really, really love to use NNN on Mac, despite your amazing support in Safari. It just does so much more in terms of styling and organization, not to mention niceties like AppleScript support. Cheers. — F
Closing, since NNW added support for BazQux some time ago.

Interesting idea about running Mojave in VM. Hadn't thought about it.
This pull request was merged. Can't say why it's not active yet. Perhaps there is some new beta that supports it.

They merged a number of threads; looks like they hit a dead end around 20 June: https://github.com/brentsimmons/NetNewsWire/pull/766
The 5.0 version only offers Local and Feedbin as feed types; I don't yet see 'Reader' (aka FreshRSS).
Even though you don't have Mojave (do you have enough memory to just run it in a VM if your hardware won't support it natively? That's what I'm doing on my older Mac Pro), perhaps you could answer some of the issues listed as problematic?

There is a ticket in GitHub for this
https://github.com/brentsimmons/NetNewsWire/issues/777As I see they're already support Google Reader API and need to test BazQux. I have previous macOS version so I can't run NNW to test.
You could try to test NNW, maybe it's already working with BazQux.
