possibility of multi-search for smartstream, or better regex
http://siwego.net/grf/regex.jpg
is there a way, to search for e.g. "cd project" and "cdproject" in one search? since wildcards works at edges of word well, "cd?project" nor "cd*project" seems not working to output both results..
3 votesTry
“cd project” OR cdprojector even
(cd project) OR cdprojectif you don’t need exact phrase “cd project” but need to find posts with “cd” and “project” in any place.

Add a "must read" option for feeds
It'd be nice to have a way to mark a subset of my feeds as "must read" and then be able to browse a stream of only my "must read" feeds. As it stands, I can't both have my feeds categorized into topic folders and also be able to read only a subset of them - I have to either read everything (through Latest), or read a single feed/folder at a time.
An alternate option would be to simply allow me to toggle whether a feed shows up in Latest or not.
3 votesI think it’s more or less adequately solved with putting feed into “Must read” folder (and feeds could be in multiple folders, although yes, it’s non-obvious).

Can someone please help me? Are there instructions anywhere on how to import from google takeout? I have tried several times with no luck.

Ability to move a feed out of a folder back to the top level
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't find any way to move a feed OUT of a folder back to the top level. Once I put a feed in a folder, it seems to be stuck there, or it can be moved to another folder, but not OUT of all folders.
3 votesJust go to Folders menu and remove checkbox from current folder.

Ability to turn off or permanently collapse all comments
I rarely read the comments, and having them populate is annoying--yes, I can collapse them post-by-post, but a permanent collapse, or, even better, a permanent unsubscribe from comments, would be very, very nice.
3 votesThere are 5 view mode buttons below filter. All except first are with comments collapsed.
You can select “Latest” and press ‘2’ to collapse comments in all feeds -
Adjust mobile PWA to leave system controls visible
The mobile PWA is working great for me, except for one thing: the manifest.json applies
"display": "fullscreen"
, so when I enter bazqux from my homescreen shortcut my mobile top bar and bottom nav controls get hidden. To get them back I have to swipe at the edges of my screen, which makes bazqux scroll around and mark things as read.Could bazqux please be adjusted to use a different
display
value such asstandalone
?3 votesDone.
“display” mode switched “standalone”.
Thank you for telling me about this. Haven’t thought that it could be inconvenient on Android.
To make “display” updated on your device you need to remove BazQux icon from home screen, refresh page in Chrome and add it to home screen again.

Synchronization error with favorites in Readably (Android App)
Currently there seem to be synchronization problems with Readably.
New Favourite posts are synchronized across all devices, Unfavourite posts are not synchronized across the different devices.
Is the error with Bazqux or Readably?
3 votesIt’s better to write about such questions to support@bazqux.com
UserVoice is for proposing and voting for new features not for bug reports.
I suspect that this is Readably issue since other apps work fine and nothing was changed in Fever API since 2013.
Try to contact Readably developers.

Space bar navigation should stop at each article
While you're using the space bar to scroll along, Even if an article is 1.5 pages long, when you click SPACE again, the next article should stop at the top of the reading pane. Basiclaly a hybrid page\down and next article behavior.
3 votesSpacebar now doesn’t select next article until current one is fully read. That means that next article is always scrolled to top when it selected on the next spacebar press.

Direct link for posts without header
Right now I can go to the article page by clicking on the header of the article in bazqux. But for those without a header there is no way, alas. Trifle, but really annoying.
3 votesYou may click on post time. It’s a link to post (like in Twitter).

Filter by subreddit flair
Is there a way to filter a subreddit RSS by a certain flair?
For example, I'd like to read only "News / Blog" entries from r/thinkpad. These submissions can be accessed using this URL: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/?f=flair_name%3A%22News%20%2F%20Blog%22
3 votesDone. It should be possible now to subscribe to flair links like this.
Flairs are also added as article tags so you could filter reddit feeds in BazQux by searching for
tag:“Flair Name”

Support for NetNewsWire 5 on macOS
Really excited for the “return” of (Free!) NetNewsWire 5.0 (Evergreen 1.0) to macOS; it’s based on open source with Bent Simmons in command. He is offering free support for feeds integration; you are invited to join the Github repository and Slack channel where they will help “get you started” with integrating your feed. I would really, really love to use NNN on Mac, despite your amazing support in Safari. It just does so much more in terms of styling and organization, not to mention niceties like AppleScript support. Cheers. — F
3 votesClosing, since NNW added support for BazQux some time ago.

Implement an Adaptive Design
The way the design works today, the full page is slightly larger than the screen 1920x1080 Adroid Chrome landscape screen (on Cyanogenmod 10.1). A properly implemented adaptive design should fix this and give you a proper layout for this, portrait and all resolutions in-between.

Filter by image type
Hi!
Using filters we can use img:true to filter only feeds with images.
Now, my question is, any chance to filter by image type?Example: gif:true
In my particular case, I want view only GIFs in Tumblr feeds.

Add tags to twitter feeds for retweats, replies, and hashtags.
I would like the ability to filter twitter feeds more effectively using tags. For instance, if I subscribe to some company's twitter account, I might not want to see retweets or replies in my feed, so if BQ could automatically add tags such as "twitterrt" and "twitterreply" to relevant feed items, they could be easily filtered out.
I don't care about hashtags on twitter, but it seems like a natural extension of my suggestion to have BQ add hashtags in a tweet as actual tags.
2 votesThere are now two URL parameters exclude_replies and exclude_retweets that you could add to Twitter URL.
For example
https://twitter.com/BazQuxReader?exclude_replies
or
https://twitter.com/BazQuxReader?exclude_retweets
or
https://twitter.com/BazQuxReader?exclude_replies&exclude_retweets -
Better initial naming for socialmedia feeds
I think currently newly added socialmedia feeds are getting redundant names. It will be better if they will get only nickname as their names, for example:
currently → offer
Twitter / danabramov → @danabramov
Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) → @kimkardashian
and etc.2 votesDone.
Removed "Twitter / " prefix and removed account names from Instagram (mostly due to Instagram no longer reporting them in their unofficial API ;)

Slashdot posts have excess whitespace
Not sure if this is unique to Slashdot, but its where I see it. When browsing a folder of feeds, Slashdot's posts have inches of white space after the article is completed.
1 voteReader now removes excess whitespace at the end of the most of the posts.

Is WebSub the future?
I just heard about this;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebSubWill BazQux provide WebSub support in the future?
1 voteBazQux supports it for years. It was previously called PubSubHubbub and was renamed to WebSub recently.

Remove subscriptions
Perhaps I'm missing it, but there only seems to be a way add new sites. Please provide a mechanism for removing subscriptions.
1 voteSelect the feed and click Unsubscribe in drop down menu above articles list (“N New” / “Show all” button)

Show proper error for invalid passwords.
I'm not sure if the password requirements (for mobile login) are very simple, but they're not documented, and when you try to set one you just get 'invalid password'.
That's either a UX bug or a documentation. But since there's not really any good reason not to allow complex passwords, I'm going to guess it's a UI bug.
1 voteIt’s already stated on the right side of password field (“must be non-empty”).
And I’ve just duplicated it in the error text too. Thank you for the idea!
